DANVILLE, Ky - Lindsey Wilson men's swimming accumulated its second-highest point total in program history to claim second place at the Mid-South Conference swimming and diving championships on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders finished with 710 points and 17 All-Conference performances, including their only two gold medals on the last day of competition.
In the 1,650 freestyle,
Sergio Ybarra won his second consecutive title in the event behind a meet record time and NAIA "A" standard of 15:40.41. Teammate
Ethan Butler followed in second place -- 15:52.75 -- for his first career All-Conference award in the mile.
Later, in the 200 breaststroke,
Clinton Eales garnered his second straight gold with a mark of 2:01.88.
Dan Spinola joined him on the podium in second place at 2:03.10.
The Blue Raiders ended the evening with a runner-up showing in the 400 freestyle relay. A team comprised of
Jose Rivas,
Max van Schagen,
Lorenz Hof, and Eales touched the wall at 3:05.90.
With the conference schedule complete, Lindsey Wilson turns its attention to the NAIA National Championships, March 4-7, in Elkhart, Indiana.
