COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's wrestling team recorded four top-four finishes at the Lindsey Wilson Women's Open Saturday at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center.
Taylor Schiesser finished runner-up in the 207-pound bracket. Schiesser opened her tournament with a pin of Emory & Henry's Allison Gabarrete in 2:34. She then pinned Malia Martin of Lindenwood to advance to the finals. Schiesser dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to Emmanuel's Gemma Templeman in the finals.
Aenaya Vines finished third in the 138-pound bracket. Vines was pinned by Emmanuel's Aalijah Pineda in the first round. She pinned Brewton-Parker's Tiana Fries in her first consolation match and earned a 10-0 tech fall over Leticia Tercero of Andrew. Vines advanced to the third-place match after Pineda forfeited in the consolation finals. She pinned Greensboro's Kyra Tomlinson in just 32 seconds in the third-place match.
Skyler Randolph finished fourth at 103 pounds. Randolph opened her tournament losing 14-2 to Lindenwood's Sienna Caruso, before rattling off four straight victories in the consolation bracket. She pinned Azariah Martin of Andrew in 31 seconds and pinned Missouri Baptist's Lillian Hackworth in 51 seconds. Randolph continued her run in the consolation bracket with a pin of teammate
Reagan Patrum. She earned a decision over Rio Grande's Alexandria Evans in the consolation semifinals. Randolph was defeated 14-4 by Emmanuel's Rebekah Jean-Baptiste in the third-place match.
Faith Allen finished fourth at 207 pounds. Allen was pinned by Emory & Henry's Emma Lozada in the quarterfinals. She then recorded back-to-back pins of Brewton-Parker's Rubie Barton and Georgetown's Jasmin Beckham. Allen earned a 7-4 decision over Martin in the consolation semifinals. Lozada pinned Allen in the third-place match.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Wednesday hosting Campbellsville and Cumberlands beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
