COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team finished first at the Lindsey Wilson Spring Invitational on Saturday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders finished with a 27-over-par 891 (309-290-292), defeating runner-up Midway (Ky.) by 29 shots. Lindsey Wilson led the tournament in par-5 scoring at -14 and in birdies with 42.
Tara Laverty earned medalist honors with a 3-over 219 (77-70-72), edging out Taylor's (Ind.) Shayne Lim by one shot. Laverty finished -4 on par-4s and carded the second-most birdies in the tournament with 12.
Kayla Saunders finished in third with a 221 (79-72-70) while
Henaaz Khera - competing as an individual - finished fourth with a 222 (80-71-71). Saunders carded a tournament-best 13 birdies.
Holly Murphy carded a 225 (76-73-76) to finish in fifth. Murphy led the tournament in par-5 scoring at -7 and had the third-most birdies with 10.
Thanaporn Buakong finished seventh with a 230 (81-75-74) while
Amanda Sitohang tied for eighth with a 231 (77-78-76).
Kendall Hacker - competing as an individual - rounds out the Blue Raiders in 24th.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on March 30 at the Patriot Invitational in London, Kentucky at London Country Club.
