COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson softball's
Kaiden Rodgers is the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career, league officials announced Monday.
The Paducah, Kentucky native earns weekly honors for her all-around efforts over the weekend as the 16th-ranked Blue Raiders defeated No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.) twice in a three-game series.
At the plate, Rodgers hit 0.545 with a pair of hits in each game. She drove in a run in both of Lindsey Wilson's victories and scored a run in game one. Her double in game two boosted her slugging percentage for the series up to 0.636.
On defense, Rodgers was perfect between spending time at third and first base. She made 19 putouts, including a dozen in game two, and recorded four assists.
Rodgers ranks second in the Mid-South for total hits and doubles, fourth in batting average, and eighth in slugging percentage, while her 98 putouts are eighth-most in the conference.
Kaiden and her Blue Raider teammates begin a 10-game homestand at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 25 against Union Commonwealth (Ky.).
