COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team delivered a strong performance on Senior Day, winning the team title at the Blue Raider Rumble with 228 points.
The Blue Raiders controlled the meet with a balanced effort across the track and field events, highlighted by multiple event victories and consistent scoring throughout the lineup.
On the track, Lindsey Wilson found early success in the relays as the "A" team of
Hannah Reid,
Chenessa Davis,
Elaina Holliday, and
Promise Amasiatu won the 4x100m relay in 47.88, while the "B" team followed with a second-place finish.
In the hurdles,
Chenessa Davis led the way with a first-place finish in the 100m hurdles at 14.28, while
Isabel Urrutia Lemus added a third-place finish.
The Blue Raiders continued their success in the sprints.
Promise Amasiatu won the 100m dash in 11.71 to meet the NAIA "B" standard, followed by
Hannah Reid in second and
Jermani Morris in third.
Elaina Holliday added a fourth-place finish to give Lindsey Wilson four of the top five spots.
In the 200m, Morris picked up another win with a time of 25.62, while
Deloris Boateng and
Charm Rone added third- and fourth-place finishes.
Ta'Shya Cramer highlighted the 400m dash with a first-place finish in 58.92, while
Dakota Tyler added points with a fifth-place finish.
Sancia Smith contributed in the distance events with a fourth-place finish in the 800m.
In the field events,
Reagan Cheatham led the way with a win in the shot put at 12.83m and added a runner-up finish in the hammer throw along with a third-place finish in the discus.
Ariona Pope also contributed in the shot put with a fourth-place finish.The Blue Raiders dominated the jumps as well.
Rosemond Owusu won both the long jump and high jump, clearing 1.61m in the high jump.
Chenessa Davis and
Elaina Holliday finished second and third in the long jump, while
Jada McIntyre added a fourth-place finish.
McIntyre also claimed first place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.34m, while
Destiny Barnes placed third. Barnes added another podium finish in the high jump, and Lindsey Wilson saw additional scoring performances from Holliday,
Selena Johnson, and Urrutia Lemus.
Nevaeh Acklin added points in the hammer throw with a fifth-place finish to round out the field event scoring.
Overall, Lindsey Wilson's depth across all event groups helped secure the team title and cap off a strong showing on Senior Day.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, April 4 at the Centre College Invitational in Danville.
