LONDON, Ky. - The No. 16-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's golf team is second after the first two rounds of the Patriot Invitational on Monday at Crooked Creek Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders carded a 30-over-par 614 (303-311) and sit 10 shots behind No. 11 Cumberlands (Ky.). Lindsey Wilson carded a tournament-best 23 birdies over the first two rounds.
Thanaporn Buakong is third with a 5-over 151 (73-78) and sits three shots out of first. Buakong recorded five birdies over her two rounds which is tied for the fifth-most in the tournament.
Henaaz Khera (75-78) is two shots behind Buakong in fourth. Khera is tied for the second-most birdies with six and is second in par-4 scoring at +1.
Kayla Saunders carded a 154 (78-76) and is tied for fifth. Saunders is one of four players to be even-par or better on par 5s after the first two rounds.
Tara Laverty is tied for 13th with a 158 (77-81), while
Holly Murphy is tied for 15th with a 159 (80-79). Murphy totaled five birdies over her two rounds.
Kendall Hacker - competing as an individual - rounds out the Blue Raiders in 33rd.
The third and final round of the Patriot Invitational gets underway on Tuesday morning at Crooked Creek Golf Course.
