ELKHART, Ind. - Blue Raider women's swimming scored two All-American relays on the first day of competition at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships on Wednesday.
The first event of the evening, the 200 medley relay, logged a seventh-place finish behind a time of 1:46.07.
Natalia Gorska and
Sara Motyl made up legs for Lindsey Wilson in the week's first relay, as did first-time NAIA All-Americans
Ela Cippico and
Emma Verkuijl.
Then, in the 800 freestyle relay, Gorska and Motyl teamed up with
Nathalie Medina and
Hannah Woyscheszik to earn eighth place at 7:45.36, a new season-best.
Lindsey Wilson garners All-American honors in both relays for the third consecutive year as the Blue Raiders end day one in seventh place overall with 46 team points.
Day two of swimming opens at 8 a.m. CT on Thursday, March 5 with preliminary heats for the 500 freestyle (Medina), the 200 individual medley (Verkuijl), the 50 freestyle (Woyscheszik, Gorska, Motyl, and Cippico), and the 200 freestyle relay.
