Women's Swimming in Seventh After Day Two of National Meet

ELKHART, Ind. - Lindsey Wilson women's swimming earned three All-American finishes on day two of the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships on Thursday.

In the evening's first event, the 500 freestyle, Nathalie Medina placed sixth at 5:04.35. The sophomore's effort is a one-spot improvement from her seventh-place performance at the national championships a season ago and came 0.30 seconds shy of her school record.

Not long after, Natalia Gorska logged a personal-best time of 23.43 seconds to earn fourth in the 50 freestyle. The junior collects All-American status in the 50-yard sprint for the second time in her career as jumps significantly from finishing 22nd in the event a season ago.

Lindsey Wilson closed the evening by placing seventh in the 200 freestyle relay. The team comprised of Ella Cippico, Emma Verkuijl, Hannah Woyscheszik, and Gorska touched the wall at 1:36.48 to secure the Blue Raiders their third All-American relay of the week and third consecutive in the 200 freestyle.

The Blue Raiders remain in seventh place overall with 98 team points.

Day three of the national championships begin with preliminary heats at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, March 6. Scheduled events include the 100 butterfly (Verkuijl), 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke (Sara Motyl), 100 backstroke (Gorska, Woyscheszik, and Cippico), and the 400 medley relay.
