COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team is ranked No. 9 in the latest NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Blue Raiders totaled 160.60 points in the national index, including 155.75 points from individual performances and 4.85 points from relays across 16 ranked marks. The ranking marks the highest national ranking in program history.
Lindsey Wilson is led by a national-leading performance in the high jump from
Rosemond Owusu, who holds the No. 1 mark in the country after clearing 1.75 meters at the Tennessee Invite.
Selena Johnson continues to be one of the top field athletes in the nation, ranking No. 2 in the triple jump with a mark of 12.22 meters set at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
On the track,
Chenessa Davis is ranked No. 7 nationally in the 100-meter hurdles after posting a time of 13.95 at the Tennessee Invite.
Promise Amasiatu also sits No. 7 in the country in the 100 meters with a time of 11.71 from the Blue Raider Rumble.
Hannah Reid adds another top-10 performance for the Blue Raiders, ranking No. 7 in the 200 meters with a time of 23.92 at the Tennessee Invite.
Owusu is ranked in two events, also holding the No. 8 national mark in the long jump with a distance of 5.91 meters.
The Blue Raiders will look to build on their ranking when they return to competition this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Centre Twilight in Danville, Kentucky.
