COLUMBIA, Ky. - The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team opens its Mid-South Conference Tournament run at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday against No. 4 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) at the Warren County Tennis Facility.
The Blue Raiders earned a bye into the semifinals after claiming the MSC regular-season title with a 6-0 record. Lindsey Wilson enters tournament play on an 11-match winning streak, outscoring its opponents 72-5.
Cumberland advanced to the semifinals with a 4-2 victory over fifth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) earlier on Friday. The Phoenix took the doubles point before trailing 2-1 after falling in both No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Cumberland rallied with wins at No. 5, No. 6, and No. 3 to earn the victory and advance to Saturday's semifinals.
The two teams last met back on March 28, with Lindsey Wilson picking up a 7-0 victory. Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland met in last year's MSC Tournament Finals, with the Blue Raiders earning a 4-1 victory to capture the title.
