BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) women's tennis team captured the 2026 Mid-South Conference Tournament title 4-0 against No. 2 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) on Sunday at the Warren County Tennis Facility.
With the victory, the Blue Raiders capture their 20th tournament title and fourth in a row. Lindsey Wilson earns the MSC's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship beginning May 12 at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
Martina Cortal and
Mayra Gisone (No. 3 doubles in the NAIA) defeated Marian Nagai and Bryndis Rosa 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Haruna Kojima and Victoria Zarate defeated
Mariangeles Mateu and
Blanca Trillo Pita da Veiga (No. 17) 6-3.
Heyka Rodriguez and
Javiera Verdugo (No. 5) clinched the doubles point for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-4 victory in the top-seeded doubles match against Mahiro Hara and YuFang Liu (No. 19).
Mateu (No. 53) increased the Blue Raider lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Zarate at No. 3 singles. Gisone (No. 17) avenged her regular-season loss to Nagai 6-2, 6-0 in the top-seeded singles match, giving Lindsey Wilson a 3-0 advantage. Cortal clinched the championship for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Rosa at No. 2 singles.
The NAIA National Tournament field is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, April 28 on the NAIA website.
