Flag Football Falls to Siena Heights in NAIA East Championship Quarterfinal

COLUMBUS, Ind.- The Blue Raider flag football team fell to Siena Heights (Mich.) 26-13 in the quarterfinals of the NAIA East Championship on Friday at Nexus Park. 

Amaya Pablo completed 23-of-37 passing attempts for 190 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Maebrie Cochran had both touchdowns for Lindsey Wilson in four receptions for 35 yards. Defensively, Annabel Fletcher, Tyria Tanner, and Jali Santiago led the team with four flag pulls apiece. 

Lindsey Wilson fell behind early, allowing Siena Heights to convert on its first possession of the game to lead the Blue Raiders 6-0 at the 2:28 mark. Pablo threw an interception the next drive resulting in a 27-yard Saints pick-six, growing the LWU deficit to 12-0. Lindsey Wilson answered back with its first touchdown of the game on a pass from Pablo to Cochran from two-yards out, cutting the Saints lead to 12-7 to close the first quarter. 

Siena Heights extended its lead in the second quarter, sending the Blue Raiders into halftime trailing 19-6. 

LWU came out of the half converting on an eight-play drive its first possession with Pablo finding Cochran from 13-yards out to cut the deficit to 19-13 with 8:36 left in the third quarter. 

The Blue Raiders were held scoreless in the fourth quarter after conceding a touchdown to the Saints, falling to Siena Heights 26-13.
