Blue Raiders Look to Build Momentum at Centre College Invitational

COLUMBIA, Ky. The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's track and field teams return to action Saturday at the Centre College Invitational, held at Joe McDaniel Field at Andy Frye Stadium in Danville, Kentucky.

The Blue Raiders enter the weekend with strong momentum after sweeping both team titles at the Blue Raider Rumble on Senior Day.


On the men's side, Lindsey Wilson totaled 318 points behind a balanced effort across the track and field events. The Blue Raiders saw multiple wins in the sprints and distance events, highlighted by victories from Nijae McBride in the 100m and Jakoby Graves in the 200m. Kairell Avery also had a standout performance, winning the 400m hurdles and placing second in the 110m hurdles.


In the distance events, Tyler Colvin and Kevin Cuin each earned wins, while Ashton Johnson added a victory in the steeplechase. Lindsey Wilson also showed strength in the relays and field events, with Janer Caicedo Campaz winning the high jump and Elijah Bullock taking first in the javelin.


The women's team also turned in a dominant performance, scoring 228 points to claim the team title.


Promise Amasiatu led the way with a win in the 100m, meeting the NAIA "B" standard, while the 4x100m relay team of Amasiatu, Hannah Reid, Chenessa Davis, and Elaina Holliday also took first. Davis added a win in the 100m hurdles, while Jermani Morris and Ta'Shya Cramer picked up victories in the 200m and 400m.


In the field, Rosemond Owusu swept the long jump and high jump, while Jada McIntyre won the triple jump. Reagan Cheatham led the throws group with a win in the shot put.


Lindsey Wilson will look to build on last week's strong performances as the Blue Raiders continue outdoor competition this weekend in Danville.
