Blue Raiders Women Finish Second at Centre College Invitational Behind Strong Performances

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team turned in a strong all-around performance at the Centre College Invitational, finishing second overall with 127 points at Joe McDaniel Field at Andy Frye Stadium.

The Blue Raiders continued their momentum from last weekend, using a mix of event wins and depth scoring to stay near the top of the team standings throughout the day.

On the track, Lindsey Wilson was led by strong performances in the hurdles and sprints. Chenessa Davis highlighted the meet in the 100 meter hurdles, running 14.20 in the prelims before winning the finals in 13.89 to meet the NAIA "B standard" and set a school record. Isabel Urrutia Lemus also advanced through the prelims with a time of 14.54 and followed with a second-place finish in the finals at 14.17. Selena Johnson qualified for the finals with a prelim time of 15.72 before recording a false start.

In the 100 meter dash, Hannah Reid continued her strong season, posting a time of 11.75 in the prelims to meet the NAIA "B standard" before finishing second in the finals in 11.83, also meeting the NAIA "B standard."

Lindsey Wilson added key points in the 400 meter dash, where Ta'Shya Cramer placed second in 59.98, while Dakota Tyler finished seventh in 1:02.76.

The Blue Raiders also scored in the 400 meter hurdles, with Davis placing sixth in 1:14.45. Arianna Payne finished seventh in 1:18.23, and Urrutia Lemus added a point with an eighth-place finish in 1:23.66.

In the 200 meter dash, Jermani Morris recorded a third-place finish in 25.41 to contribute to the team total.

Lindsey Wilson capped off the running events with a win in the 4x400 meter relay, as the A team crossed the line in 3:59.11.

In the field events, Reagan Cheatham led the throws group with a first-place finish in the hammer throw at 48.12 meters. Cheatham also added a fifth-place finish in the shot put at 11.74 meters. Nevaeh Acklin contributed with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw at 40.70 meters and a sixth-place finish in the discus at 35.88 meters.

The Blue Raiders showed depth in the horizontal jumps, led by Rosemond Owusu, who placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters. Elaina Holliday followed in fourth at 5.42 meters, while Selena Johnson placed fifth, Chenessa Davis finished sixth, and Jada McIntyre added an eighth-place finish.

In the triple jump, McIntyre recorded a second-place finish with a mark of 11.41 meters, while Owusu added a third-place finish at 11.04 meters.

Owusu also highlighted the vertical jumps with a win in the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters, while McIntyre added a third-place finish.
