Archery Posts Twelve Podium Finishes on First Day of Outdoor Regionals

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson archery team opened the USA Outdoor Archery Regionals with 12 podium finishes on Thursday at the UC All-Purpose Field.

Individual qualifying rounds also took place on Thursday. AJ Shagool finished third in men's recurve with a 513 (272-241). Mac Collins is right behind Shagool with a 489 (238-251). Zach Jackson finished 11th with a 390 (215-175).
 
Micah Bettersworth posted the best Blue Raider score in women's recurve with a 533 (274-259), finishing in fifth. Raylee Yadon (209-219) and Carlee Drury (211-206) finished in 16th and 17th with scores of 428 and 417, respectively.
 
In men's compound, Bo Pipes finished fifth with a 694 (345-349). Keegan Crawford carded a 671 (331-340) to finish 11th, while Cael Griffith finished 13th with a 634 (331-303).
 
Mikayla Cassady finished seventh in women's compound with a 672 (334-338). Audrey Mills finished 11th, carding a 622 (321-301). Madeline McGuire finished in 17th with a 336.
 
Keegan Benton posted the third-highest score in men's barebow with a 580 (291-289). LaQuann Williams also recorded a top-10 finish in eighth with a 369 (172-197). Jaiden Farley carded a 184 to finish 11th.
 
Anastacia Godman finished third in women's barebow, finishing with a 521 (263-258). Maria Sampson carded a 491 (255-236) to finish in fifth. Morgan Wilson tallied a 397 (217-180), placing in 13th.
 
Gus Burtts finished runner-up in men's fixed pins with a 690 (344-346). Will Timmerman placed 10th, finishing with a 661 (329-332). Anthony Schaible carded a 627 (314-313) to finish 14th.
 
Emma Kist placed third in women's fixed pins with a score of 666 (336-330). MaKenna Langley finished 11th with a 618 (309-309), while Lilly Bowling finished in 13th with a 616 (302-314).
 
Godman, Sampson, and Wilson took gold in women's barebow team. The trio earned a 5-3 victory over Campbellsville (Ky.) in the semifinals. They earned gold with a 5-1 victory over Midway (Ky.).
 
Shagool, Collins, and Jackson finished runner-up in men's recurve team. The trio defeated Cumberlands (Ky.) 6-0 before falling to  Pikeville (Ky.) 6-0 in the finals.
 
Bettersworth, Yadon, and Drury finished third  in women's recurve team. They earned a 6-0 victory over Midway (Ky.) in the first round before falling to Pikeville 6-0 in the semifinals. In the third-place match, the trio defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 6-2.
 
Pipes, Crawford, and Griffith earned a bronze medal in men's compound team. The trio was defeated by Cumberlands in the semifinals. In the third-place match, they defeated Kentucky Christian 231-180.
 
Cassady, Mills, and McGuire fell to Cumberlands 229-211 in the women's compound team finals to earn silver. Benton, Williams, and Farley earned bronze in men's barebow after losing 6-0 to Cumberlands in the semifinals.
 
Burtts, Timmerman, and Schaible took home bronze in men's fixed pins team. In the semifinals, they were defeated by Pikeville 228-221. The trio defeated Campbellsville 222-189 in the third-place match.
 
Kist, Langley, and Bowling finished third in women's fixed pins team. They were defeated by Pikeville 212-209 in the semifinals before defeating Midway 204-190 to earn bronze.
 
Shagool and Bettersworth took gold in mixed recurve. They earned a 5-1 victory over Union Commonwealth before defeating Pikeville 5-4 in the finals.
 
Pipes and Cassaday earned silver in mixed compound. The duo defeated Kentucky Christian 155-83 in the quarterfinals and then advanced to the finals with a 151-150 victory over Cumberlands. They were defeated by Union Commonwealth 153-151 to finish runner-up.
 
Benton and Godman finished runner-up in mixed barebow. They advanced to the finals with a 5-4 victory over Union Commonwealth. In the gold medal match, the duo was defeated by Cumberlands 5-4.
 
Burtts and Kist earned bronze in mixed fixed pins. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Campbellsville 146-137. The duo was then defeated by Pikeville 148-147 in the semifinals. Burtts and Kist defeated Union Commonwealth 151-136 to finish third.
 
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Friday for the head-to-head elimination matches and the Mid-South Conference team rounds.
