COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson closed the curtain on its 2026 season in the NAIA Softball Opening Round on Wednesday.
The Blue Raiders fought neck-and-neck with fifth-seeded Johnson (Tenn.) but succumbed to two late runs before ultimately falling 3-1.
Hallie Roberts worked 4.1 innings in her second career postseason start and did not allow an earned run on four hits. The sophomore struck out two Royals without issuing a walk.
Kayden Murray pitched the final 2.2 innings in relief, retiring four on strikes and surrendering two earned runs on three hits.
Lindsey Wilson's offense was led by
Nora Epley. After doubling in the third inning, she pushed across the game-tying run in the fourth frame on a single to left field.
Johnson jumped back in front in the Royals' half of the sixth inning, then went on to hold off Lindsey Wilson the rest of the way as the Blue Raiders put runners in scoring position in the sixth and seventh innings but could not score.
Lindsey Wilson wraps the year with a 42-8 record, the most wins since 2019.
