Ypsilanti, Mich. - Round one of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship was halted due to inclement weather on Tuesday at Eagle Crest Golf Course.
Lindsey Wilson, who had teed off with the morning session, was 12 holes into its opening round when the weather delay was called. This was the second time that poor playing conditions stopped the tournament as an early-morning storm system hit Ypsilanti not long after the Blue Raiders started.
According to tournament officials, round one will resume at 8 a.m. CT on Wednesday, May 20. Round two will take place on Thursday, May 21, after which the field will be cut in half and a final round will play out on Friday, May 22.
Kayla Saunders -- three-over par -- leads Lindsey Wilson, followed by
Tara Laverty (+5),
Holly Murphy (+7),
Thanaporn Buakong (+9), and
Amanda Sitohang (+9). Murphy is actively tied for second overall with three birdies.
