5/2/2026 12:00:00 PM

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Mid-South Conference outdoor track and field championships return to Parnell Family Stadium for the first time since 2018. Lindsey Wilson welcomes its fellow conference competitors for a two-day spectacle of the league's best runners, jumpers, and throwers.

The Blue Raiders were last crowned outdoor conference champions on the men's side in 2021, while the women's most recent title came in 2019, capping a run of four consecutive.

Cumberlands (Ky.) swept the indoor championships in Louisville earlier this season and are the defending outdoor champions.

Lindsey Wilson's men's team is led on the track by Kairell Avery who currently holds the conference's fastest times in both the 110 and 400-meter hurdles. D'Antonio Warren ranks second in the 200-meter dash, and Daniel Otibo's mark of 47.88 seconds in 400-meter run is third-best.

Reigning NAIA national champion Maxwell Wordui stands atop the leaderboard in the long jump at 7.48 meters. The sophomore has already landed a national "A" standard as he looks to repeat as Mid-South champion.

Janer Caicedo Campaz headlines a group of four Blue Raiders with the top performances in the high jump. Campaz's season-best 2.06 meters leads Dyse Harding, -- 2.03 meters -- Luis Groff, -- 1.96 meters -- and Jordan McIntyre -- 1.95 meters.

The men's 4x100 and 4x800 relays each rank second entering the conference championships, while the 4x400 relay holds the fourth-fastest time,

The Blue Raider women have flexed their speed on the track all season long. Promise Amasiatu and Hannah Reid rank first and second in the 100-meter dash, Reid boasts the best mark atop the 200-meter and 400-meter leaderboard, and Chenessa Davis is seeded first in the 100-meter hurdles.

Lindsey Wilson's 4x400-meter relay time of 3:51.53, set at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 17-18, is best in the conference by 35 seconds.

The field events are led by Rosemond Owusu's top marks in the high jump and long jump, Selena Johnson's conference-best leap in the triple jump, and Reagan Cheatham's efforts in the hammer throw -- 48.12 meters (1st) -- and shot put -- 12.83 meters (2nd).

The championships begin at 11:30 a.m. CT on Sunday, May 3 and run through Monday, May 4.
