YPSILANTI, Mich. - Lindsey Wilson women's golf finished tied for 19th at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship, missing the cut after round two on Thursday at Eagle Crest Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders will still be represented in Friday's final round, however, as
Kayla Saunders earned a pass through to round three for her individual efforts. The junior -- 11-over par 144 -- started her day with back-to-back bogies but rebounded to birdie at hole No. 3. Saunders then strung together six consecutive pars before working through the back nine and ending on a par at No. 18 to end the round tied for 25th overall.
Holly Murphy -- 18-over par 144 -- jumped a dozen spots and improved on her score from round one by two strokes. She closes her second national championship appearance tied for 81st.
Thanaporn Buakong -- 21-over par 144 -- also saw improvement from her first round as she leapfrogged 20 spots into a tie for 99th overall by shooting 9-over with 11 pars and one birdie.
Amanda Sitohang -- t-125th; 27-over par 144 -- carded a 14-over par 72 with seven pars and a birdie, and
Tara Laverty finished at 26-over in a tie for 124th.
As a team, Lindsey Wilson tallied a team score of 74-over.
Saunders tees off her final round from the 10th tee box at 6:30 a.m. CT on Friday, May 22.
