COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team travels to Miami Gardens, Florida, for a top-15 matchup against No. 14 St. Thomas (Fla.) on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at AutoNation Field.
The Blue Raiders (3-0) enter play coming off a 61-12 victory at Rio Grande (Ohio) last week. For a second straight game, Lindsey Wilson tallied over 500 yards with 541 yards and 335 coming on the ground.
Davontaye Saunders scored two touchdowns on 18 carries for 146 yards. With his two touchdowns, Saunders now ranks fourth all-time in career rushing touchdowns with 31.
Stevin Mack ran for 116 yards on 12 carries, scoring twice.
Max Gainey caught three passes for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Defensively, Lindsey Wilson limited Rio Grande to 177 yards and just 34 yards on 30 carries. It was the second straight game that the Blue Raiders held an opponent to under 100 yards rushing.

Brody Klem led the Blue Raiders' defense with five tackles apiece. Klem also recorded a sack and forced a fumble.
Layne Alford recorded two tackles for loss, while
Coty Johnson II also had a sack.
Christian Douglas recorded an interception in the victory.
St. Thomas (3-0) comes into Saturday's matchup coming off a 34-18 win over then-No. 20 Georgetown (Ky.) 34-28. The Bobcats shut out the Tigers 10-0 in the second half. St. Thomas quarterback Jalen Daniels completed 27 of his 40 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns. Geno Lubin caught eight passes for 108 yards.
Saturday features two of the top five defenses in the NAIA. St. Thomas is fourth in yards allowed per game with 198.3, while Lindsey Wilson ranks fifth, allowing 202. The Bobcat ranks third in the NAIA, allowing just 47 rushing yards per game.
Through three games, the Blue Raiders rank second in the NAIA, averaging 55 points per game, sixth in rushing yards per game (281), and 10th in total yards per game with 508. Saunders leads the NAIA, averaging 171.3 rushing yards per game and is tied for first in touchdowns with eight. Gainey's eight receiving touchdowns are tied for the most in the NAIA, while his 149 yards per game are tied for third.
Saturday's matchup is the second-ever meeting between the two programs. The Blue Raiders defeated the Bobcats 52-24 in Columbia last season.
