The 2025-26 season will be Josh Patton’s sixth season as the head coach of the Lindsey Wilson cycling program
Patton led the team from 2018-2021 and was an assistant for the Blue Raiders during the 2021-22 season before returning to his head coaching position in the summer of 2023.
The 2021-22 season saw the Blue Raiders capture their second BMX National Championship in program history.
Despite a COVID-19-shortened season in 2019-20, Patton led the Blue Raiders to a No. 7 overall placement in the USA Cycling Collegiate National Rankings. He led three individuals to podium finishes at the Mountain Bike National Championship.
Patton led the Blue Raiders to a third-place finish at the BMX National Championships as well as turning in a sixth-place finish during the Mountain Bike National Championship.
During his time as a student-athlete at Lindsey Wilson, Patton saw success both on the team and individual levels during his time riding for the Blue Raiders. Individually, he captured the 2013 Men's Division I Dual Slalom National Championship and was a part of the Blue Raiders' 2012 USA Cycling BMX National Championship Team. Patton reached the podium multiple times at USA Cycling National Championship events as both a team member and individual and helped LWC capture multiple Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships.
Patton also has experience as a professional mountain bike racer for Airborne Bicycles. He rode courses throughout the United States and was the No. 1 ranked USA Dual Slalom Professional in 2013-14, collecting a third-place finish in the overall pro category at the Gravity East Downhill Series in 2014.
He was also a Student Ambassador and Peer Mentor during his time as a student-athlete at LWU. Patton graduated from Lindsey Wilson in 2014 with a double major in business administration and media studies.
