Alicia Kemnitz

Alicia Kemnitz embarks on her 16th season as the head coach of the Lindsey Wilson men’s and women’s swim programs in 2025-26.

Since the inception of the Blue Raiders’ aquatics programs during the 2009-10 school year, Kemnitz has overseen Lindsey Wilson’s growth into an annual contender at the NAIA National Championships.

She has coached 13 NAIA National Champions, a two-time NAIA Female Swimmer of the Year, and two NAIA Female Performances of the Year. Additionally, Kemnitz is an nine-time Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year, a two-time Mid-South Coaching of Significance Award recipient, and the 2025 NAIA Women's Head Coach of the Year.

Kemnitz served on the NAIA swimming executive committee, including a term as president from 2016 to 2018, and will begin another tenure on the committee in 2025.

During her 15 seasons at the helm, the Blue Raider women are 98-34 in dual meets while the men are 97-37. Both sides pieced together a 17-meet winning streak between the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons.

Under Kemnitz, the Blue Raider women have earned CSCAA Scholar All-American Team honors 23 times, and the men have garnered the accolade 22 times to go along with a handful of other academic achievements.

Out of the pool, Kemnitz’s efforts, with assistance from the other Mid-South coaches, paved the way for swimming to become a conference-sanctioned sport in 2014.

Before the 2014-15 season, Kemnitz and Lindsey Wilson had hosted the Mid-South Conference Invitational -- a non-championship event -- for two seasons on the Lindsey Wilson campus.

Before coming to Lindsey Wilson, Kemnitz served one season as an assistant coach at Lycoming (Pa.) after four years as the head coach at King’s (Pa.).

At Lycoming, Kemnitz helped lead the women’s program to the Middle Atlantic Conference title. It was the program’s first conference title in 13 seasons. She served as the team’s recruiting coordinator and aided in writing, organizing, and leading practices.

While at King’s, Kemnitz led the program to 34 school records during her four seasons and coached the first three all-conference swimmers since 1998. The program also grew from two swimmers following her first season to 19 in her final season.

As a student-athlete at Hollins (Va.), Kemnitz was a two-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer. In 2007, Kemnitz, with another inductee, became the youngest member of the Hollins Athletics Hall of Fame.

Kemnitz graduated from Hollins in 2002 and later completed her master’s degree from Old Dominion (Va.) in 2005. In 2020, Kemnitz completed her doctorate.
