Alicia Kemnitz enters her 17th season as the head coach of the Lindsey Wilson men’s and women’s swimming programs in 2026-27.

Since the inception of the Blue Raiders’ aquatics programs during the 2009-10 school year, Kemnitz has guided Lindsey Wilson into an annual contender at the NAIA National Championships.

Kemnitz has coached 13 NAIA National Champions, a two-time NAIA Female Swimmer of the Year and two NAIA Female Performances of the Year. She is also a 10-time Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year, a two-time recipient of the Mid-South Coaching of Significance Award and the 2025 NAIA Women’s Head Coach of the Year.

Kemnitz has served on the NAIA Swimming Executive Committee, including a term as president from 2016-18.

During her tenure at Lindsey Wilson, the Blue Raider women have posted a 103-37 record in dual meets, while the men are 103-38. Both programs put together 17-meet winning streaks between the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons.

Under Kemnitz, the Blue Raider women have earned CSCAA Scholar All-American Team honors 23 times, while the men have received the accolade 22 times, along with numerous other academic achievements.

Outside the pool, Kemnitz, with assistance from the other Mid-South Conference coaches, helped pave the way for swimming to become a conference-sanctioned sport in 2014.

Prior to the 2014-15 season, Kemnitz and Lindsey Wilson hosted the Mid-South Conference Invitational for two seasons on the Lindsey Wilson campus. The event served as a non-championship meet before swimming became a conference-sanctioned sport.

Before joining Lindsey Wilson, Kemnitz spent one season as an assistant coach at Lycoming (Pa.) after serving four years as the head coach at King’s (Pa.).

At Lycoming, Kemnitz helped lead the women’s program to the Middle Atlantic Conference championship, the program’s first conference title in 13 seasons. She also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator and assisted with writing, organizing and leading practices.

During her four seasons at King’s, Kemnitz led the program to 34 school records and coached the first three all-conference swimmers since 1998. The program also grew from two swimmers following her first season to 19 in her final season.

As a student-athlete at Hollins (Va.), Kemnitz was a two-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference performer. In 2007, she became, alongside another inductee, the youngest member of the Hollins Athletics Hall of Fame.

Kemnitz graduated from Hollins in 2002 and earned her master’s degree from Old Dominion (Va.) in 2005. She completed her doctorate in 2020.
