The 2025-26 school year will be Chris Wells' 25th year at Lindsey Wilson University and fifth in his current position as associate director of athletics.

Prior to being elevated to his current position, Wells served as assistant athletics director and sports information director for two decades. He also directed the Mid-South Conference's communication efforts as the league's sports information director from 2008 to 2021 and actively serves as the conference's interim commissioner.

Wells joined the Blue Raider staff in 2001 after spending two years as an assistant in the university's public relations department.

Wells attended Western Kentucky University and Lindsey Wilson University, earning his bachelor's degree in journalism from Lindsey Wilson in 2001.

During his tenure as the Lindsey Wilson sports information director, Wells led the communication efforts for four men's soccer NAIA National Championships (2001, 2005, 2009 and 2011), four women's soccer national championships (2004, 2006, 2012 and 2014), a women's volleyball national championship (2017), a football national championship (2020), and a pair of USA Cycling national championships (2001 and 2012).

Wells led the media efforts for the additions of new athletic programs at Lindsey Wilson -- football, men's and women's swimming and men's wrestling in 2009, men's and women's archery in 2018, women's wrestling in 2024, and women's flag football, which is set to begin its inaugural season in 2025-26.

Wells was named the 2015 Clarence "Ike" Pearson recipient by the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA). The lifetime achievement award is presented annually to those that make outstanding contributions to the profession.

He currently serves as the Past President of the NAIA-SIDA Board after serving in the president's role for four year.

Among his responsibilities at Lindsey Wilson, Wells acts as the "voice of Blue Raider athletics" providing radio, television and webcast play-by-play for football and basketball.

Wells has earned numerous awards from his peers in sports information, winning the MSC's Sports Information Director of the Year honor nine times (2003, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016). Nationally, he was selected as the 2015-16 NAIA Sports Information Director of the Year.

Wells is a member of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), where he serves on the NAIA Cabinet and is a member of the CSC Unite Programming Committee.

Wells' Mid-South Conference responsibilities include overseeing the athletics communication office, conducting the conference awards, and assisting with conference's championship events.

Before stepping down from the position in 2010, Wells spent six seasons as the head women's golf coach at Lindsey Wilson. Wells led the Blue Raiders to six straight NAIA National Tournament berths, including a program-best runner-up finish in 2007. The team also won six straight MSC regular-season and tournament championships under Wells.

A native of Burkesville, Ky., Wells is married to the former Amy Thompson and has one daughter, Reilly and one son, Greyson.

Wells and his family reside in Columbia.
