Eric Wyrick begins his eighth season in 2020-21 as the head men's and women's golf coach at Lindsey Wilson College.
Last season, Wyrick led the Blue Raiders to seven top five finishes in seven matches throughout the COVID-19 shortend season that eliminated post season play. On the women's side, the Blue Raiders produced one victory at the annual Blue Raider Classic while finishing in the top five in all eight of their competition throughout the season.
During the 2018-19 season, Wyrick led the men's program to the Mid-South Conference regular season title and a third-place finish at the MSC Championship Tournament, sending one individual to the NAIA National Championship. On the women's side, the Blue Raiders finished third during the regular season, tied for third at the MSC Tournament, and earned an at-large bid into the NAIA National Championship. The men and women's programs combined for 17 top-five finishes throughout the season, 10 top-three placements, a pair of runner-up finishes and four event victories. He coached one NAIA All-American, six all-conference selections and the MSC Men's Golfer of the Year.
During the 2017-18 season, Wyrick led the men's program to the Mid-South Conference regular season title and a third-place finish at the MSC Championship Tournament, sending one individual to the NAIA National Championship. On the women's side, the Blue Raiders finished tied for second during the regular season, third at the MSC Tournament, and posted a 22nd-place finish at the NAIA National Championship.
Wyrick guided the men's golf team to the Mid-South Conference regular season title in 2016-17, adding a runner-up finish at the conference tournament while the women's team placed fourth at the MSC Tournament.
He led the men's team to back-to-back NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances after capturing the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship in both 2014 and 2015. The Blue Raiders finished in 20th place at the national championships in 2014 and followed with a 16th-place finish in 2015 after Lindsey Wilson had not made an appearance at the national tournament since the 2005-06 season. The 16th place was one spot shy of the program's best-ever finish at the national tournament.
In addition to capturing the two MSC Tournament titles, the men's team has won 18 total events in Wyrick's six previous seasons at the helm. The women's team has posted 52 top-five finishes in Wyrick's six seasons at the helm, including 33 top-three finishes and seven event wins.
Despite finishing the season ranked No. 20 in the NAIA in 2014, the Blue Raider women’s team just missed a trip to the national tournament. The Blue Raiders finished second in the MSC Championship after winning twice during the season.
In his six seasons at Lindsey Wilson, Wyrick has coached 20 all-conference men, 16 all-conference women and nine NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The 2014-15 season saw Chris Butler earn MSC Player of the Year honors and Oliver Cowl earn MSC Freshman of the Year honors for the men's team. In 2016-17, Rasmus Broholt Lind earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors on the men's side while Tara Rodenhurst earned Co-Freshman of the Year honors on the women's side. Callum Blinkhorn earned MSC Freshman of the Year honors in 2017-18 as he then followed it up with being named MSC Men’s Golfer of the year in 2018-19.
Prior to coming to Lindsey Wilson, Wyrick coached the men and women’s golf teams at his alma mater Union (Ky.) for six years.
Wyrick led the Union men's and women's golf programs to a combined 15 tournament wins, including each program winning an Appalachian Athletic Conference championship. He led the Bulldog men to the program's only NAIA National Championship appearance in 2009.
He was selected by his peers as the 2009 AAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year and the 2010 AAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year.
Prior to becoming Union coach, Wyrick earned all-conference honors all four seasons for the Bulldogs -- the only Union men's golfer to earn that distinction.
Wyrick graduated from Union College in 2006. He and his wife, Natasha, have one son, Kayden.
