Anthony Latessa came to Columbia as a Sports Information Intern during the 2016-17 school year. Latessa returned to Lindsey Wilson in March of 2023, taking over as the Sports Information Director.
A 2016 Waynesburg University (Pa.) graduate, Latessa holds a bachelor's degree in sports broadcasting/sports information. In 2020, he graduated from Campbellsville University (Ky.) with his Masters in Sports Administration.
Latessa oversees the Sports Information staff in the communication efforts of all 26 sports. He works on game notes, writing preview and recap stories, social media efforts, compiling stats during games, daily maintenance of the athletics website, and serving as the public address announcer and play-by-play commentator for select sports. Latessa also handles the nominations for Mid-South Conference Academic awards, College Sports Communicators Academic Awards, NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Scholar Teams.
In spring of 2020, Latessa was hired as the Assistant Commissioner of the Mid-South Conference and continued in that role for the 2023-24 school year. During his time with the conference, he was responsible for its sports information efforts and for planning and executing championship events. Before that, Latessa spent two years (2018-19 & 2019-20) as a sports information graduate assistant for the MSC.
In college, Latessa worked with the university's Sports Information Department, helping with statistics and game coverage for certain sports. He also provided play-by-play and other content for Waynesburg's student-run radio station (WCYJ-FM 99.5). Latessa was also a four-year member of Waynesburg football team
