WILMINGTON, Ohio --The Lindsey Wilson cross country teams participated in the Wilmington College Fall Classic this past weekend in Wilmington, Ohio.
The Lindsey Wilson men finished eighth of 16 teams. The women did not field a full team.
Leading the men's team was freshman
Sammy Maiyo who ran the 8,000 meter course in a time of 26 minutes and 35 seconds, good for a 13th place finish out of the 145 runner field.
The Blue Raider men had a team-total of 226 points for the eighth place finish. Anderson (Ind.) University placed four runners in the top-10 to win with 42 points.
Freshman
Koji Hashiyama finished 30th with a time of 27:25 in his first career meet.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Emmanuel Isanda placed 52nd with a time of 28:40 while freshman
Caleb Lafond finished at 28:55 for 54th place.
Blue Raider freshman
Micah Hundley rounded out the scoring with a 77th place finish at a time of 31:16.
On the women's side, freshman Marie Coyon finished the 5,000 meter course 35th out of the 139 runner field with a time of 21:26.
Fellow freshman Cassie Niersel ran a time of 22:10, good for 54th place with junior Meagan Crouse finishing at 22:16, good for a 57th place finish.
Sophomore Amber Cannon finished 101st at a time of 24:43.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday, October 21, as the Blue Raiders compete at the Southeast Classic in Rome, Georgia.
