COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Union (Tenn.) University junior guard Matt Bealim scored with 1.2 seconds left to lift the visiting Bulldogs to a 66-64 win over Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday night at Biggers Sports Center.
The loss is the first non-conference defeat for Lindsey Wilson under head coach Paul Peck since taking over the program four seasons ago. Lindsey Wilson falls to 27-1 all-time under Peck at home against non-Mid-South Conference opponents.
Bealim's game-winner ended a 7-0 run over the final 1:14 give the sixth-ranked Bulldogs the win.
Lindsey Wilson, leading 64-59 with 1:25 left, managed just one shot over the final 90 seconds. Union, on the other hand, scored five points in a span of 12 seconds to tie the game at 64-64 with 1:01 left.

John Fitzgerald missed the only Blue Raider shot down the stretch with 24 seconds left. Union grabbed the rebound that set up the Bealim winner.
Following a Union (9-0) timeout to set up the final play of regulation, Bealim scored and was fouled to give the Bulldogs their first lead since 11:48 remained in the second half. Bealim scored 21 points on nine of 12 shooting.
Bealim's missed free throw and a Lindsey Wilson timeout gave the Blue Raiders a final desperation chance at avoiding their first loss of the season. But a turnover off the inbounds pass ended the upset bid and gave the Bulldogs the 66-64 win.
In the first half, neither team was able to gain a distinctive advantage. Seven ties and five lead changes highlighted the first 20 minutes as neither team lead by more than six points.
The Bulldogs grabbed their largest lead of the first half (10-4) with 11:45 remaining before halftime. The Blue Raiders responded and took the lead 13-12 with a lay-up from freshman guard
Brandon Adams with 9:53 left. Adams scored eight points, all in the first half.
After swapping baskets over the next four minutes, the Blue Raiders (5-1) took their largest lead of the half at 25-21 after a
Brian Campbell free throw with 4:08 to play.
But Union scored seven of the final 10 points of the half to lead 34-30 at the break.
Union scored the first basket of the second half to take its largest lead of the game at 36-30 with 19:25 left. Lindsey Wilson answered with the next seven points to regain the lead at 37-36.
Bulldog junior center Ben Frederick scored a bucket in the paint to give Union the lead back. Union held onto that lead until the eighth tie of the game at 47-47 with 11:48 remaining. Frederick scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
No. 11-ranked Lindsey Wilson raced to its largest lead of the game at 62-56 with 2:39 remaining after a basket by senior forward
Stephen Russell. Russell scored a team-high 16 points.
Frederick scored a three-point play to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead 62-59 with 1:50 left.

Anthony Labka responded with a basket in the paint to push the Lindsey Wilson lead to 64-59 with 1:30 remaining. Labka ended the night with a career-high 11 points.
Frederick countered with another basket and a chance for his second consecutive three-point play. But Frederick missed the free throw and Lindsey Wilson sophomore forward
Lloyd Lewis grabbed his game-high 13th rebound of the game. Lewis added 14 points for his fourth double-double of the season.

Scott Cook, he was stripped from behind by Bealim. Bealim found senior forward Kinley Sellers in the corner for a three-pointer to tie the game for the tenth time at 64-64 with 1:01 left. The three-ponter was Sellers only points of the night.
Bealim scored the game-winner one minute later.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, December 2, as the Blue Raiders play Fischer (Mass.) College at the McKinley Grand Tournament hosted by Malone (Ohio) College in Canton, Ohio.
