BARDSTOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's golf teams opened up the Spring season with a pair of wins at the Campbellsville University Spring Invitational held at Maywood Country Club.

The Blue Raider men placed three on the all-tournament team en route to their fifth win in the last six tournaments dating back to the Fall season.
Lindsey Wilson shot 305 (17-over par) on the 6,884-yard course. St. Catherine (Ky.) College finished second with a 313 (25-over par).

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Zach Wilson earned medalist honors with a one-over par, 73. Juniors Tyler Sharpe and Federico Lizarralde also earned all-tournament honors.

On the women's side, Lindsey Wilson shot a 367 (79-over par) over the 5,631-yard course to pick up their second win of the 2004-05 season.

Lindsey Wilson freshmen Jessica Robertson and Beth Cooper earned all-tournament honors to lead the Blue Raiders to the win.

Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University finished second in the 18-hole event with a score of 379 (91-over par). Cumberland (Ky.) College's Jenni Kieffer earned medalist with a 13-over par, 85.

Both teams had to battle rain, 30-mile per hour wind gusts and a wind chill in the low 40's.

Each team returns to action on March 24-25 at the Kentucky Invitation Tournament host by Georgetown (Ky.) College.

The men will play at Kerney Hills Golf Club in Lexington, while the women will tee it up at Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown.
