SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team won the program's first-ever Mid-South Conference Golf Championship in on Wednesday at the Cardinal Club.
Lindsey Wilson shot a two-day total of 694 (350-344) over the 6,040-yard, par-72 course. Georgetown (Ky.) College finished second with a 763 (374-389) and Cumberland (Ky.) College finished third with a 791 (395-396). Campbellsville (Ky.) University and Lambuth (Tenn.) University did not post a team score.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Jessica Robertson earned medalist honors with a 164 (83-81). The tournament win was Robertson's first of her career.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Beth Cooper finished tied for second with a 167 (81-86). Freshman Lindsay Roberts finished tied for fourth at 178 (88-90). Sophomore Stacy McClain's 185 (98-87) and senior Betsy Thomas' 192 (98-94) was good enough for seventh and 10th.
Robertson, Cooper, Roberts and McClain also earned Mid-South Conference all-conference for their results in the three conference sponsored tournaments during the season.
The Lindsey Wilson women returns to action on April 21-22 as they travel to Maywood Country Club in Bardstown, Kentucky, for the NAIA Region XI Tournament.
The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team finished second in the MSC Championships, also hosted at the Cardinal Club.
The Blue Raider men fired a two-day total of 612 (304-308) to finish four strokes off the pace set by Cumberland's 608 (306-302).
Campbellsville's 628 (309-319), Georgetown's 648 (332-316), Pikeville (Ky.) College's 679 (342-337) and Lambuth's 715 (363-352) rounded out the field.

Tyler Sharpe finished tied for second in the tournament with a 149 (72-77). Junior
Federico Lizarralde shot a 151 (76-75) to finish fifth, while sophomore
Kyle Andreas finished seventh with a 155 (76-79). Sophomore Zach Wilson's 158 (80-78) and junior
Bill Dukes' 162 (84-78) rounds out the Lindsey Wilson team.
Campbellsville's Jeff Sullivan shot a 148 (70-78) to earn medalist honors.
Lindsey Wilson's Sharpe earned his third consecutive Mid-South Conference Player of the Year award for having the lowest total score in the three conference sponsored tournaments.
Wilson and Lizarralde joined Sharpe on the all-conference team.
The Lindsey Wilson men return to action on April 25-26 as they travel to Pineville, Kentucky, and to Wasioto Winds Golf Course for the NAIA Region XI Championships.
