LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's cross country teams each participated in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.

The Lindsey Wilson women recorded their most impressive showing of the season with a third place finish out of the 31 NCAA and NAIA teams that participated.Lindsey Wilson freshman Stellah Sang led the Blue Raider harriers with her third win of the season over the 5,000 meter course. Sang's time of 18 minutes and 54.29 seconds was the best among the 234 runners and her best of the season.

The Lindsey Wilson men finished 18th out of the 24 teams that entered the event. Junior Emmanuel Isanda led the Blue Raiders with a time of 26:25 over the 8,000 meter course. Isanda finished sixth out of 197 runners.

In the women's race, Lindsey Wilson finished with a team-total of 125 points, the best among the NAIA schools. NCAA's Murray State University finished first with 116 points to win the team event.

Lindsey Wilson senior Meagan Crouse finished 24th with her season-best time of 20:20, while sophomore Cassie Niersel finished 29th with a time of 20:22. Freshman Monicah Maiyo (20:37) finished 34th and sophomore Marie Coyon finished 43rd in her first race of the season with a time of 20:49.

Freshman Jessica Warren (24:57) and junior Amber Cannon (25:43) finished 198th and 204th respectively as Lindsey Wilson individuals.

In the men's race, Lindsey Wilson scored a team-total of 381 points. Lindenwood (Mo.) University won the men's event scoring 47 points.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Kojo Hashiyama finished 20th with a time of 27:17, while freshman Drake Midgett finished in 11th place with a time of 29:21.

Sophomore Caleb LaFond (31:31) and freshman Shelby Gribbins (31:38) finished 162nd and 164th respectively to round out the Blue Raider finishers.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday, October 13, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Wilmington Fall Classic in Wilmington, Ohio.
