Cook's Record 35 Points on Senior Day Give Blue Raiders 75-62 Win Over Georgetown

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Scott Cook scored a career-high 35 points to lift the Blue Raiders to a 75-62 win over visiting Georgetown College on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.

The win secures second place and a first round bye in next week's conference tournament for the Blue Raiders (22-8, 6-4). Georgetown (24-6) wins the regular season crown at 7-3.
Leading 60-56 with 3:49 left in the game, Lindsey Wilson used an 8-2 to take their first double digit lead (66-56) of the game with 2:31 remaining. Cook -- playing in his final game at Biggers Sports Center -- scored all eight points during the stretch.

Georgetown sophomore Aubrey White cut the Blue Raider lead down to 68-60 with a lay-up with 1:24 left. That was as close as the Tigers would get.

Lindsey Wilson scored the next four points, including a put-back by sophomore Lloyd Lewis on a missed free throw. Lewis was fouled and made the charity throw to push the lead to 72-60.

A pair of meaningless free throws by junior guard Chris Gaither would be the Tigers last points. Lindsey Wilson closed the game making three of four free throws for the 75-62 win.

The Blue Raiders used a 9-2 run in the waning minutes of the first half to grab a 35-31 halftime lead. Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown exchanged the lead in the first 20 minutes six times and were tied on five other occasions.

Lindsey Wilson improved the 20-0 this season when they shot better than its opponents. Lindsey Wilson shot 57.5 percent (23-of-40) from the field, including eight of 14 from beyond the three-point arc. Georgetown shot 43.1 percent (22-of-51) for the game.

The Blue Raiders also won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding Georgetown 27-24. Georgetown entered the game ranked second in the NAIA in rebounding differential (+11.9).

Cook ended the game 11 for 15 from the field, including four of six from deep. He also made nine of 10 free throws. Lewis ended the game with 11 points.

Georgetown junior Brian Silverhorn paced the Tigers with 24 points on 10 for 21 from the field. White ended the night with 11 points off the Tiger bench.

Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown earn the byes in next week's Mid-South Conference Tournament held at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center in Pikeville.
