COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College basketball teams opened Mid-South Conference competition by sweeping visiting University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in an NAIA women's-men's doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center.
The LWC women (7-14, 1-0 MSC) overcame a 13-point deficit midway through the second half to upset No. 4 Cumberlands (17-3, 0-1)70-64.

The No. 13 LWC men (16-3, 0-1) avoided an upset when sophomore point guard Brandon Adams sank a pair of free throws with 3.1 seconds left to give the Blue Raiders a 58-56 win.
