KENOSHA, Wis. -- A trio of Lindsey Wilson College cross country student-athletes competed at the 2007 NAIA National Championships at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Cross.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Christopher Kipchirchir finished 59th out of the 258 harriers to participate in the men's championship with a time of 25 minutes and 56 seconds over the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman David Mutuse ended in 130th with a time of 26:30.
Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University junior Aron Rono won the individual national championship with a time of 23:52.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Grace Korir finished 136th in the women's championship with a time of 19:31 over the 5,000-meter course.
The three harriers earned the trip to the national championships after finishing in the top-five at the regional championships.
Prior to the championship, junior Caleb LaFond was named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete for men's cross country for junior or above standing and maintaining a minimum 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
A pair of Lindsey Wilson women also earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete honors. Juniors Marie Coyon and Cassie Niersel were honored for their work in the classroom.
