Men's Basketball Dominates in 88-35 Win over Brescia University

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team scored 27 of the first 30 points and coasted to the 88-35 win over Brescia (Ky.) University on Saturday night at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders never trailed and led by as many as 58 points (85-27) in winning their second straight game.

Lindsey Wilson (11-7) set a program record allowing just 35 points in a game. The previous low mark by a Lindsey Wilson opponent was 41 by Webber International (Fla.) University on Nov. 15, 2004.

The Blue Raiders dominated play on both ends of the court.

On the offensive end, Lindsey Wilson shot 55 percent (33-of-60) from the field as all nine Blue Raiders scored. Lindsey Wilson also made 42.1 percent (8-of-19) of its three-pointers.

The Blue Raiders were just as impressive on the defensive end.

Lindsey Wilson limited the Bearcats (4-13) to just 25.5 percent (13-of-51) shooting and allowed just two three-pointer in 18 attempts. Brescia committed 20 turnovers in the game which led to 33 LWC points.

Lindsey Wilson dominated the rebounding column holding a 47-25 advantage.

A quartet of Blue Raiders scored in double figures led by junior guard George White's 21 points. The reigning Mid-South Conference Player of the Week and Louisville native fell just shy of matching his career-high of 24 points set on Friday night in Lindsey Wilson's 119-72 win over Indiana University East.

Senior guard Donte' Williams contributed 20 points and eight assists and junior guard Antonio Logwood added 17 points off the bench. The Lindsey Wilson reserves finished out-scoring their counterparts 32-5.

Sophomore guard Jeff Vories chipped in 10 points.

Brescia sophomore guard Doug Denton finished as the only Bearcat in double figures with 13.

The Blue Raiders used runs of eight, nine and 10 points to build a 27-3 lead in the first 10 minutes of the first half. Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to as many as 34 points while hitting 64.5 percent (20-of-31) from the field.

Brescia -- who ended the half with twice as many turnovers (12) as field goals (6) -- shot 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from the field while missing all seven three-pointers.

Lindsey Wilson scored the first 20 points of the second half and led by at least 50 points the rest of the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, January 20, as the Blue Raiders host Ohio State Mansfield at Biggers Sports Center.
