WILMINGTON, Ohio -- For the second straight season, Lindsey Wilson's David Mutuse captured the Wilmington (Ohio) College Fall Cross Country Classic individual title.
Mutuse crossed the finish line with a time of 24 minutes and 46 seconds -- 25 seconds better than last year's time -- to win by 13 seconds over runner-up Makorobo Salukombo of Denison (Ohio) College.
Mutuse helped the Blue Raiders to a fifth place finish today in the 23-team field.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Christopher Kipchirchir finished with a time 25:55 to finish 10th in the 238-man field. Senior Koji Hashiyama finished 25th with a time of 26:15 over the 8,000 meter Wilmington course.
Sophomore Bradley Bilbro and freshman Philip Borisei each finished within the top-100. Bilbro crossed the line in 71st with a time of 27:51, while Borisei ended in 99th with a time of 28:18.
Freshman John Anderson's (123rd) time of 29:01, sophomore Tony Perugini's (186th) 31:39 and freshman Evan Crowdus' (197th) 32:22 concluded the Blue Raider harriers that competed.
Denison won the team event with 60 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 as the Blue Raiders travel to Rome, Ga. for the Southeastern Classic.
