ROME, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team finished fifth overall at the 2008 Southeast XC Classic in Rome, Ga. on Saturday.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore David Mutuse was the winner of the event with a time of 25 minutes and 22 seconds. The first place finish was Mutuse's fourth career victory.
Sophomore Christopher Kipchirchir placed ninth giving Lindsey Wilson two top 10 finishers. Kipchirchir ran the 8,000 meter course in a time of 26:57 and received eight points helping Lindsey Wilson record 175 as a team.
Koji Hashiyama finished with a time of 26:42 which was good for 17th place.
Shorter College won the event with 41 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 11:30 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 8 as the Blue Raiders compete in the Mid-South Conference Championships in Berea, Ky.
