PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team clinched at least a tie for their second straight Mid-South Conference regular season title with a 71-57 win over host Pikeville (Ky.) College.
In the nightcap, the Pikeville men earned the split with an 84-66 win over the Blue Raiders at Pikeville College Gymnasium.
In the women's game, the Blue Raiders (20-9, 8-1) used a 13-0 run to close the first half and coasted to the win. The Lady Bears fall to 6-21 on the season and 1-7 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson senior center Terran Duncan led four Blue Raiders in double figures with 16 points. Senior guard Krystal Jackson chipped in 14.
Pikeville junior guard Alice Daniel led the Lady Bears with 14 points.
In the nightcap, four Pikeville players scored in double figures led by senior forward Anthony Ighodaro's 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Senior center Jeff Ferguson added 20 points in the win.
Lindsey Wilson junior guard George White led the Blue Raiders with 16 points. Junior guard Quintez Thomas added 12.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Saturday, March 1, in the regular season finale as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center. The women's game tips-off at 2 p.m. CT with the men's game to follow.
