COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's basketball teams swept Pikeville (Ky.) College tonight at Biggers Sports Center.
The Blue Raider women (16-8, 4-0) remained perfect in the Mid-South Conference with an 85-72 win over the Lady Bears (5-18, 0-4) in the opener.
Freshman center Viktoria Krell recorded career highs with 28 points and 16 rebounds in the win. The double-double is Krell's sixth of the season. Senior forward Kara Osterfeld tied her career-high chipping in 17 points in the win.
In the nightcap, the Lindsey Wilson men scored 11 of the final 14 points to beat No. 11-ranked Pikeville 65-57.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 15-8 overall and 3-1 in the MSC. Pikeville falls to 18-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Lindsey Wilson junior guard George White scored a game-high 23 points, while junior forward Sam Walton added his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action for a women's and men's doubleheader on Saturday, February 9, as the Blue Raiders travel to Georgetown (Ky.) College. The women's game tips-off at 1 p.m. CT with the men's game to follow.
