MT. STERLING, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team finished fifth at the Campbellsville (Ky.) University Spring Invite played at Old Silo Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders shot a two-round total of 614 (314-300) over the 6,715-yard, par 72 layout. Host Campbellsville won the event with a total of 589 (295-294).
Lindsey Wilson junior Carlos Navarro led the Blue Raiders with a two-day total of 150 (74-76). Navarro finished tied for eighth in the 56-man field.
Campbellsville's Jeff Gumm defeated fellow Tiger Jeff Sullivan on the fourth playoff hole to claim medalist honors. Gumm (73-71) and Sullivan (72-72) tied for the top spot with a two-day total of 144.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Travis Radford tied for 10th with a 152 (81-71) and freshman Ross Crowe ended tied for 20th with a 156 (79-77). Freshman Joe Hood's 157 (80-77) and freshman Chris Lewis' 164 (88-76) were good enough for 22nd and 39th respectively.
Junior Zach Charbonneau finished tied for 26th with a total of 158 (84-74) playing as an individual.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action March 27-28 as the Blue Raiders travel to the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
