BEREA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team finished third in the Berea (Ky.) College Invitational on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders finished with 85 points. Centre (Ky.) College won the team event with 60 points.
For the second straight week, senior Cassie Niersel and junior Monicah Maiyo led the way for Lindsey Wilson.
Niersel finished in eighth place completing the 5,000 meter course in 21 minutes and one second. Maiyo finished 11th with a time of 21:27.
Freshman Alicia Mattingly continues to impress finishing in 17th place, running the course in 22:02. Junior Amanda Johnson (22:11) finished 18th giving the Blue Raiders four harriers in the top-20.
Sophomore Nicole Furnish (23:57) finished 31st to complete the Lindsey Wilson team.
Georgetown (Ky.) College junior Britney Chesser won the event with a time of 18:52. Chesser helped Georgetown finish second as a team with 63 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, October 4, as the Blue Raiders travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Greater Louisville Classic.
