Mattingly Sets Personal Record at Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Alicia Mattingly shattered her personal record time at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday as women's cross country finished 21st out of 35 teams with two runners in the top 100 at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.

Mattingly completed the 5K run in 20 minutes and 45.74 seconds, breaking the 21-minute barrier for the first time, and finishing in 68th place out of 298 harriers.

The sophomores previous best time was a 22:02.21 finish on Sept. 20, 2008 at the Berea (Ky.) College Invitational. Mattingly's mark on Saturday crushed that time by one minute and 17 seconds.

Lindsey Wilson accumulated 521 points and posted a total time of 1:47:37.85. The University of Kentucky won the classic with 75 points and a 1:36:56.09 total time.
