LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Freshman Kevin Rono led the Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team, finishing in 11th place with a time of 28 minutes and 5.01 seconds in the Mid-South Conference Championship at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
Lindsey Wilson finished in fifth place in the team standings with 124 points in the last event of the season. The University of Rio Grande (Ohio) took the team title with 25 points, while University of the Cumberlands was the runner-up with 52 points.
Behind Rono was fellow newcomer Jordan Green in 28th place with a time of 30:40.04. Sophomore Ricardo Vergara crossed the line in 31:29.21 to take 33rd place, while sophomore Roberto Vergara finished in 36th place with a time of 31:56.55.
One spot behind Roberto was sophomore John Anderson in 37th place with a time of 32:13.52.
The final three finishers for Lindsey Wilson crossed the line one after the other. In 40th, 41st and 42nd place were senior
Tony Perugini (32:40.31), freshman
Charles Martin (32:52.81) and sophomore
Evan Crowdus (33:26.14), respectively.
