LONDON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's golf team moved up three places today to finish third at the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders tied for the low round today with a team total of 293 to finish with a two-day total of 597 (304-293). Lindsey Wilson finished behind the tournament winner Lee (Tenn.) University's 576 (283-293) and host Cumberlands' 590 (297-293).
Lindsey Wilson freshman Antonio Arriola led the Blue Raider with a one-under par 143 (71-72) while earning all-tournament team. Arriola finished the tied for third in the 80-man field.
Junior Joe Hood tied for ninth following his tournament total 147 (74-73).
Freshman Daron Morris fired the round of the day with a three-under par 69. Morris rebounded nicely after an opening round 82 and finished the tournament tied for 15th with a 151 (82-69).
Senior Travis Radford's 156 (77-79) and sophomore Levi Gordon's 164 (82-82) finished tied for 27th and 53rd respectively while freshman Chaz Giles -- playing as an individual -- finished 64th after a 169 (86-83).
Lee's Tyler Hollister (69-73) and Walters State Junior College's Matthew Smith (71-71) tied for medalist honors with 142s. Smith won the outright individual title with the playoff win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action Sept. 21-22 as the Blue Raiders travel to Campbellsville Country Club for the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament.
