DANVILLE, Ky. - Freshman Kevin Rono led the pack of Lindsey Wilson men's harriers running as individuals with a time of 28 minutes and 42.74 seconds to finish 12th in the first race of the season at the Centre College Invitational 8K run on Saturday.
With injuries limiting the Blue Raider roster, the team opted to run four individuals in the field and not enter the team competition.
Lindsey Wilson placed two student-athletes in the top 25 as newcomer Jordan Green joined Rono with a 24th-place finish in 30:12.15. Sophomore John Anderson was the next Blue Raider across the line in 32:59.93 to take 45th place, while freshman Charles Martin rounded out the squad's entrants in 52nd place with a time of 34:10.90.
Centre College won the team competition with 28 points, followed by Berea College (50 points) and Georgetown College (84 points).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 9 a.m. CT on Sept. 19 in Berea, Ky., for the Berea College Invitational. The Blue Raiders finished third in Berea in 2008.
