LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sophomore Sharon Ronoh finished fifth overall and freshman Raegan Deaton finished 51st out of 235 runners to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team finish in fifth place overall with 197 total points on Saturday in the silver race at E.P Tom Sawyer State Park.
Lipscomb (Tenn.) University finished first with 21 points, while Campbell (N.C.) University finished a distant second with 142 points and Emory (Ga.) University took third place with 172 points. Finishing just ahead of the Blue Raiders in fourth place was Valdosta State (Ga.) University with 179 points.
Ronoh crossed the 5K line in 19 minutes and 14.97 seconds while Deaton finished in 21:15.26.
Junior Maria Sanchez finished just behind Deaton in 52nd place with a time of 21:16.62, while Kaley Dunbar finished in 55th place with a time of 21:20.58. Adding to the bunch in the 50's was newcomer Madison Mills in 58th place (21:22.85).
Amanda Bland crossed the line next in 83rd place (21:57.70) giving Lindsey Wilson six finishers in the top 100 of the 235 person field.
Reini Brickson finished 134th in 23:01.98, while Chelsea Conway crossed in 25:13.96 to take 171st place.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 8 at Shawnee State (Ohio) University.
