ROME, Ga. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Sharon Ronoh narrowly missed a top-10 finish while leading the women's cross country team to a 13th place team finish at the Southeastern Classic hosted by Berry (Ga.) College on Saturday.
Ronoh finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds to finish 11th in the 233-woman field. Shorter (Ga.) University's Justyna Mudy won the event with a time of 17:30.
The Blue Raiders scored 377 team points in the 27-team field. Indiana Wesleyan University captured the team title with 70 points.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Maria Sanchez recorded the second best time of the day for a Blue Raider harrier with a time of 20:47. Sanchez finished 85th overall. Freshman Madison Mills completed the course in 21:05 to cross the line in 103rd.
Junior Alicia Mattingly crossed the finish line in 122nd with a time of 21:35.59, while freshman Deaton Raegan finished just behind Mattingly with a 21:35.89. Freshman Reini Brickson (21:54) and junior Chelsea Conway (24:28) finished 137th and 201st respectively.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Portsmouth, Ohio.
