COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Leave Chase Spreen open for too many 3-pointers and you're bound to pay, just as Brescia (Ky.) University did to the tune of 22 points and three makes from behind the arc to lead the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team to an 85-56 win at Biggers Sports Center on Tuesday.
The junior wasn't alone in the rout as senior Brandon Clemons added 11 points and five rebounds and Jeremiah Diebler scored nine points on three 3-pointers as well, both in the second half, with two coming within 30 seconds of each other.
Brescia got a team-high 18 points from Aaron Tandy and 11 points from Bryce Garrett, while Darren Smith added 10.
Lindsey Wilson held a decisive 39-22 rebound advantage and outshot the Bearcats from the field 51.7 percent to 44.7 percent.
Brescia was forced into 19 turnovers, while Lindsey Wilson let go of just 14 possessions with 19 assists.
The Bearcats struggled behind the arc, hitting just 1-of-9 shots for 11.1 percent.
Smith tied the game at 10-10 with a basket near the 13 minute mark, but the bright moment for Brescia didn't last long as Lindsey Wilson went on to lead by as many as 11 points in the first half and 29 in the second.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday against Southern Wesleyan University at Biggers Sports Center.
