BEREA, Ky. -- Sharon Ronoh crossed the finish line as the top collegiate harrier, helping the Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team take second place at the Berea Invitational hosted by Berea (Ky.) College Saturday morning.
The Blue Raiders finished with 45 team points to take second place, while Campbellsville (Ky.) University took top team honors with 42 points with four runners finishing in the top 10. Georgetown (Ky.) College rounded out the top three with 106 points.
Ronoh crossed in 19 minutes and 34 seconds, trailing only unattached runner Petrana Petkova who clocked in at 19:19. Four other Lindsey Wilson harriers joined Ronoh with times in the top 20.
Freshman Maria Sanchez was the next to cross after Ronoh with a time of 21:24 for seventh place overall, while newcomers Madison Mills and Raegan Deaton finished in 11th and 12th place, respectively. Mills finished in 21:52, while Deaton turned in a time of 21:52.
Freshman Kaley Dunbar finished 18th with a time of 22:18, while her classmate Amanda Bland finished 28th in 22:47. Continuing the youth movement was newcomer Reini Brickson with a 38th-place showing in 23:29.
Senior Chelsea Conway crossed the finish in 25:03 to take 59th place as the final Blue Raiders across the line.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 8:30 a.m. CT on Oct. 2 in the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
