Despite seeing Lindsey Wilson (12-3, 3-1 MSC) build a first-half lead by as many as 13 points, West Virginia Tech used its height and athleticism advantage to will itself back into the game in the second half.

After entering halftime down 36-27, the Golden Bears outscored Lindsey Wilson 18-8 over the first eight minutes of the second half to eventually take the lead at 45-44 on a free throw by Proctor.

From there Lindsey Wilson went on a run of its own, 15-4, over the next four minutes to go ahead by 10 points in the back-and-forth battle.

This time the lead stuck, although the Golden Bears trimmed it to three twice, Lindsey Wilson got timely 3-pointers from Spreen and freshman Chase Cox to make sure it left with the victory.

West Virginia Tech outshot the Blue Raiders from the field 45.8 to 40.4 percent, pulled down more rebounds (42-30), but Lindsey Wilson made up for it by hitting 13 more free throws and six more 3-pointers than the Golden Bears.

Lindsey Wilson also forced West Virginia Tech into 22 turnovers while committing just 14 of its own. The Blue Raiders played an even game with 14 assists as well.

The Blue Raiders return to action at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 8 against the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at Biggers Sports Center.
